About the Silicon Valley Asian American Voices
The trailer above is for the Silicon Valley Asian American Voices documentary video project, coordinated by Asian Americans for Community Involvement (AACI), a client of Clever Girls Collective.
The documentary follows the stories—the successes, hardships, and hopes—of three Asian American immigrants in Silicon Valley. It shows their struggles, and also the solutions they find, as they navigate a new culture and language.
As the stories of these three immigrants unfold, it becomes clear that their success at overcoming barriers like access to health care, is tied to the strength and support of the community. It's also moving to see how their contributions to the community make it even stronger. It's a reciprocal relationship.
Silicon Valley Asian American Voices project has three goals:- Educate the community on the history, experiences, barriers to success, and community contributions of Asian American immigrants in Silicon Valley
- Identify key policy issues that facilitate the integration of Asian American immigrant communities; and
- Foster cross-cultural understanding among various ethnic communities.
- Watch the film trailer. Then go see the full film when it is screened on March 20 in conjunction with the San Francisco Film Festival. Events and discussion groups are free. Visit their website for more details.
